the tunes that keep you going

I hate running. HATE IT. More than almost anything else. But I do love the feeling of accomplishment you get when you are finished with a good run.

I also thoroughly enjoy dancing first thing in the morning.

I wouldn’t have gotten through my first 5k without my friend Kasey. And the friendly neighbors that shot all the runners with water guns. That was fun!

But when running alone, or even walking on the treadmill at work on lunch break, I’ve got to have a good list of music to keep me going! Mostly because when I’m the only one in the gym on lunch break, I can sing along, and that’s fun too!

And not just for running… need to get pumped up for your day in the morning?

Here’s what I enjoy on iTunes, or the Pandora App! As well as a few other songs I wish I had on iTunes…. I’ll be buying those soon. (Ignore the fact that a lot of these songs are old – you can’t deny that they make you want to dance…)

  1. Senorita Justin Timberlake
  2. Happy Pharell Williams

Please help Laura and Ray get to Nicaragua!

Laura and Ray need your help!!

Every year, our other halves, Laura and Ray, travel to Nicaragua on a missions trip with their home church. They do it all – feeding kids, hanging out at orphanages, building relationships with the people of Nueva Vida – a town built on a landfill.

These two LOVE Nicaragua. Their hearts are built around it. Their lives revolve around it.

But getting there is tough.

This year their trip is $1400 per person, or $2800 altogether.

That’s expensive!!

If you are able, I know that any financial support they get is GREATLY appreciated. Your help won’t just get them there, it will help them continue their relationships and mission work in the lives of kids.

If you are interested in donating to their trip, you can mail a check made payable to “OOTBWC” (Their church is called Out of The Box Worship Center) – and mail it to PO Box 1082 Boone, NC 28607. Please put “Nica – Ray and Laura” in the memo line!

Thanks so much for considering my best friends in your charitable contributions! They will be so grateful!!

Just a laugh for your Friday!

Only because so many of our friends are having kids now, I can’t wait for the gender reveals for all of your second kids!

Baby gender reveal gone awful!! But so hilarious!

Favorite Things Friday!

These are a few of my favorite things!

love Pottery Barn! Everything about it! This might be based off the fact that theres this underlying nautical feel to every piece in their collection. Your home doesn’t have to be all anchors and sails to feel nautical. Sometimes its just the way the wood looks, or the way the colors blend.

Top left – boat shaped cooler. Marshall wants to do this for our Engagement party, with the canoe. I love it!

Top middle – Coat hooks! Obviously ocean inspired!

Top right – my favorite coat hooks! And you wouldn’t know these were beachy, unless you know your way around a boat dock!

Bottom left – Salt and pepper shakers! Way too cute.

Bottom right – more coat hooks. We don’t even wear coats here… and I keep finding coat hooks I like. Oh well – for the dog leashes maybe?
